FAQ

FAQ
Do you take professional business or corporate photos?

Yes!  We shoot headshots are for professionals who need a  headshot for their business, company’s website, LinkedIn profile, blog, publication, etc.

To create the best look to represent your personality and personal brand, we’ll research your industry, speak with you to understand your business mission and how you want your headshot to accomplish.

Do you take headshots for actors, models, musicians, and entertainers?

Absolutely! Actor, model, musician and entertainer headshots are different from portraits and business headshots.

For actors we’ll work together to capture your character “Type” and create a headshot that is an accurate preview of you and serves as an important promotional tool for casting directors to shop you.

Model headshots bring out your commercial appeal, value, and uniqueness. Entertainer and musician headshots are a creative representation of your brand and you as a product.

Headshot Tips

How do I get started?

Give us a call or fill out the form below to book a day and time for your photo session and ask any specific questions you may have. When you arrive to your session, bring some clothing options for your session and we’ll go over clothing options and choose something together.

We’ll coach you through your session to bring out and capture the best YOU in the photos. Once we are sure that we have captured enough photos to choose from, then you’ll pay for the balance session.

24-48 hours later we’ll email you a link to an online proof gallery where you can view all of the photos taken and choose the ones you want to keep, according to your package. The photos you choose will be sent via email, as high-resolution color .jpegs.

How many photos do you take?

The photographer will shoot enough photos within your allotted session until you have plenty of photos to choose from for your package. The photographer will periodically share peeks at the images with you through his camera display during the session, to make sure that you are satisfied with how you are being captured.

How long does it take?

Depending on your package it could take 30 minutes of actual shooting. Give yourself about an hour for a one-look session so we’ll have enough time to build a rapport, choose clothing and backdrops (or backgrounds outdoors), and take the photos. If you’re adding a makeup artist or additional looks block out about 90 minutes in your schedule.

How long until I get the photos delivered to me?

After your session, you’ll get a link to an online proof gallery emailed to you within 24-48 hours. Delivery of your final photos will depend on your package, and if you’re doing retouching beyond our standard light blemish removal and image enhancements. Our weekly workload can also impact delivery time, but the average time is 4-5 business days. A rush fee of $75 applies for a 24-hour turnaround of 1-5 retouched photos.

How much is the investment?

Our rates are here, and if you don’t see what you’re looking for, submit what you need in the form below and we’ll quote you a price.

I need company staff and group photos. Can I create a custom package?

Sure! For staff and group headshot rates, and our easy process, click here.

Do you use natural or studio light?

Both! We use studio light and backdrops for better control, and natural light when it is the best choice. We also take beautiful seamless outdoor portraits with natural and fill light.

Do I need make-up for a business headshot session?

We are sure you look great without make-up.  However, we highly recommend makeup for your photo session, especially for women.  If you never wear much makeup or haven’t liked the way your self-applied makeup has looked in past photos, or if you tend to have a lot of redness or rosacea that needs to be color-corrected with makeup for a photo, we recommend a makeup artist.

Our makeup artist understands our lighting techniques and how our cameras perceive color.  If you require make-up let us know.

Is hair styling included with my session?

Hair styling is not included.  Come with your hair styled and camera-ready.

Should I wear jewelry in my headshots?

For headshots, it is best to keep it simple.  For acting headshots keep in mind that jewelry could be interpreted with your Type as amateurish. You are the focus of the headshot and all the attention should be on you.

Should I shave before my session?

If that is the look you are going for then please shave. Our cameras will pick up every detail so make sure you shave well.  Bring your razor to the session just in case you need to shave again.

Do you sell prints or zed/comp cards?

We do have printing available if needed. You can order individual prints of your photos through your online gallery after the session, or if you need promotional prints as 8×10’s with your name on them or zed/comp cards, we can create the file and some options for printing depending on the quantity you need.
